The Moreno Valley is a place almost too beautiful for words. From the thirteenth century to the end of the nineteenth century, Native Americans roamed northern New Mexico’s majestic Moreno Valley in the Southern Rockies on their journey toward the Taos Pueblo, a major cultural and trade center. Apache, Comanche, Kiowa, Ute and Plains tribes traveled through the area, and some established encampments. Local Legend says Native Americans christened the mystical alpine glow”fire of the angels” or “the land of angel fire,” which eventually transpired into the present-day name Angel Fire.

Today, Angel Fire is a top four-season, family-oriented destination resort community in the Southern Rocky Mountains of Northeast New Mexico.
